Our client is a leading cost consultancy, and they are now in need of an experienced and switched-on Senior Quantity Surveyor for their team in Auckland. A background of working predominantly for a professional quantity surveying company is essential, but any experience as a construction QS will be beneficial. The position is paying a salary in the region of $120-140k plus benefits.
This position requires you to work closely and liaise with clients, contractors and consultants alike. While the primary objective being delivering successful work as a dedicated and versatile QS, it also expects outstanding leadership- and mentoring abilities.
The successful candidate will have extensive pre- and post contract experience, from tendering to claims. Chartered QS status (RICS or NZIQS) is ideal but not essential, although large scale commercial development experience is a must.
To be considered for this position you will posses the following:
- A minimum of 7 years' experience working in a similar role
- Knowledge of evaluation of tenders, as well as claims and schedules
- Experience within procurement, including options for engaging contractors
- Processes involving Financial Reporting, Insurance and general construction techniques
- Second to none in clear communication skills, contract and construction knowledge.
- Excellent IT and estimating software experience
- Be organized, autonomous and passionate about the role and company
- A tertiary degree is essential
