Our Transport Services team based in Northland have recently won a Road Maintenance contract and are now on the look out for an Operations Engineer to join the team.  As Operations Engineer, you will be working in Road Maintenance Team to ensure high level of operational support is provided. This includes providing technical support and guidance to the delivery teams, reducing customer complaints by ensuring that any issues are contained, resolved and practical solutions are implemented to prevent future issues arising.

The work range includes developing maintenance solutions and programs, pricing, planning, and leadership of the maintenance delivery teams. This role will see you liaising with multiple Downer teams.

The role is diverse with the main responsibilities include:

• Ensure that contract management processes and deliverables are carried out to the required company and contract standards
• Analyse and manage maintenance information systems and data to develop & deliver maintenance programmes that achieve maximum value for the client and for the company with a view to long term sustainability and good client relationships.
• Develop and lead personnel within Operations teams to ensure accurate, timely and quality delivery of physical work and asset information to clients.

About you:

• Relevant Diploma in Engineering or Project Management (preferred but not essential), or Supervisory experience in Civil Construction or Maintenance.
• Good analytical and computer skills, particularly relational database skills.
• Good ability to communicate effectively with staff.

Desired Experience

• 5 + years' experience in a similar civil engineering position
• Relevant Diploma in Engineering or Project Management
• Good analytical skills
• Ideally experience with RAMM software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be a self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented
• Experience with, and a strong commitment to health and safety initiatives
• Current drivers’ licence
