We have an opportunity for an HSE Advisor to join us in the sunny Bay of Plenty. Tauranga is experiencing a surge in business confidence and commercial property projects. Hawkins is right at the heart of the action. Right now we're building the University of Waikato's Tauranga CBD campus, the new Farmers building, Tauranga Crossing Stage 2 and Zespri's new head office at Mount Maunganui.

Our HSE Advisors are important members of the project management team, with specific responsibility for on-site safety management systems and supporting the sites' HSE performance. In this role you will provide advice and assistance on health, safety and environmental management. You will help facilitate effective safety meetings, review work practices of staff and sub-contractors, work with project teams to identify and manage H&S risks as well as identifying suitable controls. You will proactively lead accident and incident prevention initiatives and foster an environment of behavioural-based change and continual improvement.

What we're looking for:

• You'll need to have a recognised Health and Safety qualification
• Health and safety management experience in the vertical building construction industry
• Proven commitment and passion for developing a high performing safety culture
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to build and foster relationships
