The Opportunity
Looking after the yard and plant, your main responsibilities will be the efficient management and supply of plant, equipment and transport services to building sites.
To be considered for this role it is essential that:
- You have a clean license with a Class 2/3 endorsement
- Disciplined and self-motivated with a positive approach to work
- Effective interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team
- Physically fit
- Prioritise work and meet deadlines
- You are computer literate, able to use email, maintain system tracking systems etc
- Be responsible for the safe operation of plant and yard
Working with members of the site and project teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the asset register for plant and equipment is accurate and kept up-to date so that you are know where to source if required on another site at short notice.You will ensure all plant and equipment is identified and maintained in a safe and working order before distributing to another site.
Act as dispatcher and driver as necessary, and arrange additional peak time cartage capacity on a tightly controlled basis when necessary.
You will regularly assess replacement needs and opportunities to purchase different types of plant, then plan such purchases in conjunction with the Construction Manager, keeping an eye out for new developments in construction plant.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical test including drug screening, and be eligible to work in New Zealand either as a resident or by holding a current work visa.
