Senior Quantity Surveyor (Contract Role)
I am currently recruiting for a Senior QS to work in a contract framework for one of New Zealand's most progressive and forward thnking construction companies. This will be a 8 month contract role where you will then have the option to move into a permanent role or contract to the company directly. The position will entail commercially manging 2/3 construciton projects as well as mentoring and developing 2/3 Junior and intermediate Quantity Surveyors.

Responsibilities:
Managing the commercial element of a number of high profile medium sized Auckland city construction projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be based both on site and from head office and responsible for the profitable delivery of the project. The Senior QS will be directly involved with the following functions:
- Cost Planning
- Procurement & tender evaluation
- Negotiation & preparation of contract documents
- Valuations
- Cost reporting
- Final accounts
- Contract administration
- Management of Quantity Surveying/Procurement Process.
Requirements
- 6 + years’ experience within Quantity Surveying, preferably with a main contractor
- Ideally experience in managing the commercial function of large commercial projects.
