The System Design and Delivery (SD&D) business group's aim is to provide, improve and maintain the land transport system to effectively enable transport services. Our focus is to design and deliver an integrated transport system for all New Zealanders.
The role
The purpose of the role is to take projects through the various stages of development including planning, procurement, implementation and construction, ensuring the forward work plan for all assigned projects contributes to the Transport Agency's business plan of delivering great journeys to keep New Zealand moving.
You will play a key role in the successful development and delivery of new projects across the Bay of Plenty State Highway network, ranging from small safety improvements to multi-million dollar highways. You'll use your experience to lead project teams and engage with customers, development partners and stakeholders, including councils, iwi, landowners and road users. You will be a ‘big picture' thinker and be able to understand and apply risk management principles and make good decisions based on sound evidence.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong experience in project management, including programme, financial and risk management, ideally in roading or engineering/construction
- Experience in managing consultants and contractors, preferably within an engineering/ project or construction industry and awareness of NZS3910
- Experience in working with teams to analyse problems and develop solutions
- Experience in effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in road construction works or the processes involved in planning, designing and building is desirable
This role is based in Tauranga.
