Bureau are working in partnership with an industry leader in Shop fitting, Commercial Interiors and Signage throughout New Zealand for over 100 years. Their rich and diverse history has seen them work with many of NZ’s best-known businesses to help create and promote their brands.
A recent change in ownership has brought them a new focus and desire to better service their clients and they established an Auckland branch in mid-2017. The demand for their services has grown and they now require people to fill key roles in their growing team.
My client is currently seeking a Site Foreman to lead and oversee their shop fitout, construction works and installation of joinery and shopfitting’s required for projects that are managed from their relatively new South Auckland based operation.
We’re looking for a results driven team player who prides themselves on their workmanship, creativity, and ability to think outside the square, all while working on and controlling the processes within a variety of projects at any one time.
Key components of the role are:
- Understanding of fitout programs
- Purchasing of materials in a timely manner to enable successful site works in alignment with fitout program
- Sub-Contractor coordination to meet program
- Clear understanding of scope from detailed MCG quote info
- Building works onsite as per drawings and consultants documentation
- Integration with subcontractors e.g. Painters, Fire Protection Services, Electricians, etc.
- Installation of joinery and shop fittings
- Generation and receipt approvals of purchase orders
- General administrative tasks as required.
- To manage staff on onsite to meet deadlines
- To assist in the training and upskilling of staff
- Provide support to staff as required
- Champion Health and Safety
- Contribute to a can-do culture and environment
- Represent the company to the highest level
- Maintain a healthy working relationship with other staff
The ideal candidate will be either a qualified carpenter/joinery or cabinet maker or have had several years’ experience across one or all of those skillsets. You will be expected to approach the work in a highly organised manner with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure. A good working knowledge of all normal joinery factory equipment and machinery is a must, along with a flexible and adaptable attitude to suit the business needs.
