The Company
Fulton Hogan is celebrating 85 years in the transport infrastructure, water, energy, mining and land development sectors. We’ve earned our stripes building the backbone of New Zealand’s roading network while making our mark on roading projects across Australasia. Our company structure incorporates regional Infrastructure Services and national Construction businesses which have allowed us to grow from a small civil contractor to a major vertically integrated construction company offering quality construction materials and superior surfacing and infrastructure services across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. We have successfully delivered a number of award winning projects throughout New Zealand delivering dynamic improvements to our roading network. Within NZ Construction we have diversified beyond our traditional transportation projects to include water and wastewater treatment plants, bridges and rail infrastructure and we have established an aspirational target to more than double the size of the NZ Construction business in the next five years.
The Job
In order to achieve this target we will continue to raise the capability of the NZ Construction ‘Win Work’ team; including increasing our success rate on tenders for projects procured under collaborative delivery models, such as Alliance, Competitive Alliance and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI). Selection of Alliance and ECI contractors is typically from evaluation of non-price attributes only, highlighting the importance of effectively presenting our credentials within the framework set down by the evaluation team and in a manner that sets us apart from our competitors. In the context of traditional D&C and construct only tenders our goals are to continue to make tender shortlists and subsequently to maximise the value of Supplier Quality Premium (SQP) benefits in tender evaluations. Increasing competition from international players in New Zealand and the rise of second tier contractors demands continual improvement in our bid submissions in order to achieve those aims.
This is a position where you will make your mark and contribute to the success of our NZ Construction team. You will be accountable for managing major submissions from inception to completion.
The Candidate
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Submissions Manager who will add “WOW” factor to our submissions while ensuring technical content that responds in all respects to the customer’s requirements. Previous experience in successful tender submissions is essential with experience in roading, rail, water and utilities infrastructure favoured. You will be accomplished in facilitating, leading and contributing to major tender submission teams teams, empowering others to deliver their best work.
