Due to an increase in demand for Trimble technology we are looking for an enthusiastic, career focused person to join the team as a Technology Application & Support Specialist, based in our Christchurch office. Customer satisfaction is the key component of the Technology Application & Support Specialist's success. A Technology Application & Support Specialist combines technical knowledge with sales skills.

The successful applicant will report to the Service and Support manager and will be responsible for delivering a professional level of product delivery, implementation, training and technical support services to our customers, both onsite and by phone and email, across products and solutions which include Trimble Site Positioning Systems, Trimble office and Connected Site software, and Trimble machine control systems.

We believe the best person for this role will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in surveying or engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with survey and/or machine control in civil construction or mining industries, preferably with Trimble products.
  • The ability to engage professionally and build relationships with a wide variety of customers.
  • The ability to explain and teach users on product capability and software workflows.
  • The ability to stay cool under pressure and build trust with clients.
  • A logical and methodical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • A passion for the application of technology in the construction industry.
  • High standards and pride in their work.
  • The ability to travel within NZ.
     

Essential functions of the role:

  • Delivery, implementation and training of technology solutions to construction customers.
  • Assist in the development of localized training materials and provide training to end-users.
  • Assist sales with product demonstrations to customers.
  • Assist sales and marketing with trade shows and events.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales with the recommendation of solutions for customers.
  • Deliver quality technical support on time and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Pre-delivery configuration and validation of equipment.
  • Document and report field activities as well as being pro-active in creating process improvement.
  • Drive revenue based upon performance of services for construction customers.
  • Assist in calculating client quotations.
  • Assist in negotiating tender and contract terms to meet both client and company needs.
  • Travel to visit potential clients as directed.
  • Assist the division in meeting regular sales targets.
  • Record and maintain client contact data.
  • Assist in coordination of sales projects.
  • Liaise with other members of the sales team and technical support to solve client problems.
