Our client is a leader in their segment of the CA sector with an enviable reputation.
Due to current team dynamics and a steadily expanding business advisory division, the firm needs an accomplished senior accountant to join one of their fastest growing teams in Auckland.
The role reports to one of the partners in the firm although the successful candidate will be involved in various projects under other partners as well.
Some of the main responsibilities defining this key senior role include:
- Preparation of year-end financial statements
- Periodic management reporting
- Tax compliance (including Income Tax, GST, FBT etc).
- Managing a portfolio of key clients and the workflow associated with it
- Assisting partners with business development and strategic planning
- Reviewing work papers and assisting junior team members with complex technical issues
- Guiding and mentoring junior professionals
- Contributing/participating in internal training sessions
- Various other operational and strategic ad hoc responsibilities
The successful candidate will work directly with a broad spectrum of SME entities, including high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, trusts, partnership and companies with complex structures and multi-million dollar annual turnover.
We are looking for a CA qualified accounting professional with a minimum of 3-4 years current NZCA experience in business services..
Naturally you will have sound technical background and up-to-date knowledge of New Zealand tax and the Companies Act.
Your interpersonal skills, commercial credibility and proven ability to communicate with external and internal client and stakeholders in a professional and effective manner will be critical for this role.
