Would you love to contribute to some of Wellington's most valued open spaces?
We're looking for a person with relevant experience to work within our Open Space and Parks Team as Waterfront and City Parks Manager.
You
We are looking for a strategic thinker who is future focused and has the ability to create breakthrough strategies and plans. You must be able to work with all sorts of people at all sorts of levels and be highly skilled at building and maintaining relationships. You will need to demonstrate leadership behaviours in all that you do, and inspire others to help you achieve your vision. While you have direct control of some activity, you will be using your networking, influencing and motivating skills and political nous to achieve the rest.
Your leadership role
We want to make sure that our central city spaces continue to be exciting and welcoming spaces for residents and visitors. We need someone who understands this dynamic and will support and enhance the spaces that help make Wellington the world's most liveable city!
You will lead a small and dedicated team and be responsible for ensuring the special nature of the Waterfront remains as a recreational icon for the city, and recognise the growing importance of our central city open spaces.
This is an important leadership role, where community expectations are high and business challenges the norm.
Wellington City Council
In exchange for your skills, you'll work for an organisation that really values its people - we provide opportunities to be part of our leadership development programme and participate in a number of learning programmes. There's lots of great stuff happening here - lunchtime classes, subsidised Club Active gym membership, sports and social activities. We also have family leave provisions and a generously subsidised kid's school holiday programme.
If you believe you have the experience and skills to manage our Waterfront and City Parks then we are eager to hear from you.
Applications close on Sunday, 22 July 2018.
