About the Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure Services Group, the Executive Manager Construction and Maintenance will lead and effectively manage Council’s Construction and Maintenance Branches. This position provides strategic and operational advice and direction regarding Construction and Maintenance matters as well as managing and providing technical advice and assistance to Council and staff in the planning, development and implementation of Construction and Maintenance projects.
This position gives the successful candidate the opportunity to combine their operational and technical experience in a dynamic, fast paced environment, as well as being able to demonstrate their exceptional ability to lead and manage a large team to deliver results of a high calibre.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline who has extensive experience leading and mentoring teams to achieve and go beyond agreed outcomes and standards. The successful applicant will show through experience their ability to initiate and formulate extensive work programs which deliver on the Toowoomba Regional Council’s goals and objectives. You will have a demonstrated high level of customer service and an understanding of legislation applicable to local government which will include your ability to manage projects within time, budgetary and legislative provisions or guidelines.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate, experienced leader who ideally is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). A post graduate qualification in Engineering, Management and/or Project Management along with experience working in Local Government at a management level is advantageous.
