Detail information about job Operations Manager - servicing Auckland Airport. Terms and conditions vacancy
- Add real value at Auckland Airport
- Showcase your leadership
- Be the benchmark in aviation service provision
Our client, a multi-national facilities services company with a nation-wide footprint, holds aviation operations as is crowning glory - surely then having Auckland Airport as a client must be the jewel in that crown? Make no mistake though, they are a fastidious client, rightfully requiring safety, service, efficiency and effectiveness at every turn.
An opportunity exists to join the team of operations managers and supporting personnel overseeing this core airport service, adapting their approach to this continually changing environment, proactively planning for passenger peaks, and amending schedules to accommodate fluctuating staffing levels.
To succeed in this dynamic environment, operations leaders need experience in managing teams of staff (and uncompromising clients). A sufficient level of financial acumen, along with the ability to undertake basic analysis, report writing, and user-level Excel skills are important. In addition, a working knowledge of employment relations fundamentals along with a mature and decisive outlook is essential - but the real criterion is the need to take both service excellence and operational accountability personally, in order to satisfy one's own sense of pride!
The provision of our client's service to Auckland Airport runs almost 24/7, and shift coverage will vary between the hours of 06:00 to 22:00, including regular one-day weekend work, on five days per week. A reasonable level of lifestyle flexibility is required to fulfil this demanding role, with a vehicle and attractive salary package offered in compensation. In addition, an operational performance-based incentive is included in the package, along with a mobile phone.
A real opportunity exists to learn the skills of a new industry, with most senior colleagues at the operation having worked the hard-yards from operative to manager. Similarly, bringing complimentary skills to this team could be a very satisfying proposition, adding capacity, and fueling their insatiable drive for 'chasing great'.
As a service professional, there can be no greater testing ground than this discerning environment, with this prestigious client, for this vast and successful employer - and with this capable and passionate team.
