About the Organisation

YMCA employs around 700 employees across Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. We have a diverse range of operations including facility management, health and fitness, early childhood education, OSCAR, accommodation, outdoors, recreation, aquatic, fundraising, education and youth programmes. About the Role

Reporting to Group Manager, Recreation, you will be responsible for overall facility management including programme and service development, budget and business planning, financial management, staff management, relationship management, marketing, risk management, and effective evaluation and reporting. Knowledge and experience in these areas as well as customer relationships and facility and operations management in a fitness environment is essential. You will also be experienced in delivering to Key Performance Indicators and Targets and have a high attention to detail, particularly in centre presentation.

You will be expected to deliver against financial targets and budget while being connected to the community. You will be a strong people manager with the ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team of line managers and indirect reports. You will have a desire to achieve results through people; have experience in financial management; community programming and/or fitness industry and recreation programming is a definite advantage.

You will need to be action orientated, and have the ability to grow the business. You will have strong organisation and communication skills, be people and community focussed and thrive on delivery of results. Your ability to nurture a positive and productive work environment across a team of capable staff working in a high energy environment will be evidenced by your previous experiences.
