Detail information about job Chief Executive. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Advocate for the welfare of children
  • Build on the 90-year legacy of this important Trust
  • Lead a team of committed people
THE TRUST:
The Dingwall Trust was established by David Dingwall over 70 years ago to provide residential facilities for children in need. The financial stability provided by these funds has enabled the Trust to grow and expand its services. Today the Trust fulfils a broader remit of supporting children with residential care, in the home through short term intervention and in a broader outreach programme. The pastoral care may extend to some students being offered educational scholarships. A dedicated team of on site and in-community professionals and supporters are united in their desire to provide opportunities and fulfilment to children and young people in need. http://dingwall.co.nz/

THE ROLE:
As the Chief Executive you will be responsible for setting the Strategy in conjunction with the Trustees and then implementing that strategy via policy initiatives and sound management of the Trust. Establishment of new programmes and monitoring effectiveness of existing programmes is a core function, all with the welfare of the children as the focus.

The Chief Executive manages a small number of direct reports but over 50 FTE’s. The external  relationships are vital, with Government departments, regulatory bodies, educational services and other stakeholders.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
As a “voice for young people’ you will be a passionate advocate for children under the care of the Trust. Your background may be in Child welfare, advocacy, or similar service. It is crucial that you have the passion and energy to take on this challenge and the cultural sensitivity to ensure the children in the care of the Trust are provided a continuity of care. This is a leadership position that requires someone with high EQ, advocacy skills and an ability to inspire those around you. Evidence of your financial management skills from past employment is also required.

If you are ready to take on your next challenge, please attach your current CV together with a cover letter outlining what you could bring to this role.  For a confidential conversation please call Iain MacGibbon or Rosemary MacGibbon on 09 9159150
