Applications are invited from Senior Fingerprint Officers interested in taking on the challenging and rewarding role of Principal Fingerprint Officer, Christchurch Fingerprint Section or Hamilton Fingerprint Section
We are looking for someone who will lead the team into the future, achieving national consistency whilst developing your staff, and delivering a high standard of service to the districts.
Purpose:
This is a key leadership role within the National Fingerprint Service Centre and you will need to be able to lead your team effectively as well as work with the Fingerprint Management Group. The successful applicant will be able to:
Provide leadership and management in respect to a timely service delivery and in accordance with Our Business.
Engage, motivate and influence your fingerprint team
Contribute actively to the fingerprint management group
Actively seek out and develop partnerships with relevant stakeholders
Ensure staff are deployed, and work is undertaken, in accordance with Service Centre and NZP strategies and priorities.
Actively lead the development of staff
Champion the Police High Performance Framework within your team
Skills - you will be able to:
Demonstrate an ability to lead, manage and influence staff both operationally and administratively, fostering a high performing team and developing a positive team environment.
Demonstrate experience or the ability to lead behaviours that promote police values.
Demonstrate an ability to drive or influence change.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of, and an ability to, deliver a fingerprint service to contribute to Our Business, in accordance with our SOP's whilst role modelling and promoting the Police High Performance Framework.
Experience - you will have:
The ability to demonstrate effective periods of leadership, as acting (or the) Principal Fingerprint Officer, Team Leader, or in some other capacity.
Special Requirements:
Must be qualified within the NZ Police Fingerprint Career structure as a Senior Fingerprint Officer and have practiced as a qualified fingerprint specialist for a minimum of five years.
Alternatively, must be currently managing a fingerprint team and have been in this position for at least 2 years.
Must have demonstrated a desire and drive for personal and professional development.
Must be able to demonstrate periods as acting PFO and/or in a team leadership role.
