Te Tāwharau o Ngāti Pūkenga Trust is a Treaty of Waitangi Post Settlement Governance Entity. It received the majority of its settlement assets in 2017.
The Trust has developed a governance and organisational structure to manage the assets obtained through the Settlement and set up both a Charitable Trust and a commercial company called Ngāti Pūkenga Investments Limited (the Group).
The Charitable Trust is seeking a part-time General Manager (GM) for the Group to consolidate the progress made to date and to focus on the following priorities for the next five years:
- Growing the settlement assets;
- Planning and executing kotahitanga events such as ahurei and wananga for Ngāti Pūkenga;
- Succession planning and leadership development; and
- A modest distribution to our kāinga each year.
Reporting to the Board, the GM will be accountable for effectively leading and managing the Group’s operations and activities, whilst ensuring that the outcomes of the Trust’s strategic direction are met.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- Proven strategic and operational management experience
- A “hands on” approach
- Excellent time management skills
- A partnership and solution based focus
- Experience working in a kaupapa Māori environment
