Aurora Energy is New Zealand’s seventh largest electricity network by customer connections, supplying electricity to more than 88,000 homes, farms and businesses in Dunedin, Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes. Aurora Energy Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dunedin City Holdings Limited, owned by the Dunedin City Council. The principal activities of the Company are the ownership, development and strategic management of electricity distribution network assets in Dunedin and Central Otago.
Dunedin City Holdings Ltd is seeking to appoint a suitably skilled Director to the Board of Aurora. Applicants will bring proven governance experience to the role and a strong understanding of governance policies and processes.
Candidates must be comfortable in a challenging and high-profile position and will possess a well-developed commercial acumen, high level of intellect and proven strategic thinking ability. Applicants will be able to demonstrate how they have contributed to the strategic growth and long-term future planning of an existing business coupled with excellent relationship management, stakeholder engagement and networking skills. Technical and regulated industry experience would be beneficial, however it is not a prerequisite for application.
The Board meets monthly (11 times a year) and this is a remunerated appointment.
It is essential that candidates keen to be considered for this position are currently resident in the wider Otago region. Dunedin residents strongly preferred.
