ABOUT THE JOB:

We are currently looking for a Channel Manager (Pacific Islands) to join our Mobile Business at Samsung NZ. You will responsible for managing a team of 3-4 and ensuring the success of Samsung portfolio in terms of unit sales, revenue, investment and margin within the Pacific Islands channel. You will represent and build the Samsung relationship through the key accounts, distributors, partners and various stakeholders. Exceptional relationship skills, managing complexity, the ability to influence and a strong drive for success are essential attributes to the job holder.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning:

  • Achieve the relevant Samsung goals in terms of sell out units and revenue, net revenue, consolidated profit, forecast accuracy and channel inventory management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
  • Accountability of all Channel drivers including Sales Allowance, Sales Rebates and Joint Marketing Fund Investment to maximise channel growth.
  • Ensures effective management of financial scorecard and accruals management to support excellence in financial planning.
  • Setting and tracking of key business metrics to review performance and adjust strategy to ensure business goals are met.

Customer, Distributor and Partner Development:

  • Account Planning to build joint Account plans.
  • Trade Spend Optimisation.
  • Distributor management to maximise routes to market.
  • Be the central point of contact for all Islands issues and opportunities.

Other:

  • Management, leadership, training and development of the Channel team.
  • Work in close partnership with customer and Samsung supply chain to manage customer forecasts, forecast accuracy and channel inventory to maximise revenue.
  • Strong collaboration with the Product / Retail / Field / Marketing teams to shape the development and execution of programs that drive superior execution and results.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business or any relevant areas is ideal etc.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in Telecommunications, Consumer Electronics or FMCG industry.
  • Strong people leadership experience and ability to strategically lead a team and drive outcomes.
  • Distributor / channel management and operator sales / product experience preferred.
  • Expert in identifying channel, account and segment extension opportunities.
  • Strong analytical experience, data and insights to define business decisions and optimisation.
  • Strong account planning and forecasting, path to purchase optimisation and collaboration.
  • Expert in defining channel planning, optimising account, distribution and marketing mix.
  • Proven leadership in building joint business plans with partners, in negotiation etc.
  • Strong stakeholder management (internal and external).
  • Flexibility to travel both locally and internationally as and when required.
