About the role:

To achieve revenue targets each month set by the Sales & Marketing Manager, in conjunction with developing strong business relationships with Synnex's retail partners whilst working under the guidance of the Retail Sales Manager.

Due to the extremely dynamic nature of the ICT supply market, in order to achieve your KPIs, the following areas of accountability are your key responsibilities:

  • Holding key national retail relationships by engaging with key buyers & assistants at head office level on regular basis
  • Drive retail sales revenue in line with set monthly & annual budgets
  • Develop vendor relationships by proactively encouraging relationships between vendors and our retail partners, ensuring at all times that Synnex is seen as the conduit for these relationships
  • Develop systematic account call cycles - Visit each account within portfolio as required. Build relationships with all key contacts in each account to maximise revenue opportunities for Synnex
  • Maintain "current" status of national retailer claims by collaborating with finance to develop a "pre-empt" communication window to ensure funding is claimed on time before deadlines as set by vendors
  • Proactive account management, working with retailers to achieve their goals and Synnex's
  • Develop marketing opportunities through key vendors with our partners
  • Develop core range of products for each partner, with consultation by product management team, vendor and customer
  • Joint visits with top vendors to add value including training and large deal opportunities
  • Weekly reporting to sales managers on all outbound visits and telephone calls – including deals and potential business pipeline
  • Monthly reporting to sales managers on all managed accounts, achievement vs goals set, wins or falls, issues and competitor activity / analysis

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role, whether it be through another ICT Distributor, Vendor, or Reseller. Dealing with IT products and engaging with IT resellers
  • A degree within an IT field would be highly regarded
  • Strong business development skills
  • Ability to proactively identify and develop business opportunities in current & new market segments and develop relationships accordingly
  • Proven track record in achieving sales results
  • Hard working and reliable
  • High level of discipline and professionalism
  • Clear communicator, both oral and written
  • Ability to self-manage
  • Have good understanding of technology (with passion and interest)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Hold current driver's license and have your own reliable vehicle (essential)
  • Ability to regularly visit key Auckland based customers
  • Available to travel to other upper North Island cities to visit customers once or twice a month on an overnight basis
  • Charisma and have an ability to build rapport with clients
  • Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or citizenship
