The role will be responsible for providing support to the BDM (Business Development Manager) and customers through transactional processes and managing projects. You will be relied upon to develop and maintain positive relationships with our customers and facilitate their returns, requests and enquiries. You are a key link between our suppliers, sales team, production, warehouse and external customers.

Hours of work 8:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday

Duties in this role will include:

  • Provide support to the BDM (Business development Manager)
  • Visit existing customer base
  • Request and process quotations from suppliers
  • Prepare CAD drawings and specifications
  • Prepare quotations for customers
  • Troubleshoot and investigate customer technical complaints and quality issues
  • Complete the non-conformance process including follow up
  • Inspect and measure specified incoming products
  • Use the sales tools to track projects and create reports

The successful Candidate will have the following:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications (degrees, diplomas and trade certifications with mechanical background will be considered).
  • Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, single line and schematic drawings, commercial and contract conditions.
  • Knowledge of warehousing, packaging and supply chain would be considered an advantage
  • Specific knowledge of a broad range of industries would be considered an advantage, especially knowledge of fasteners and hardware.
  • Understanding of ISO:9001 quality standards and systems.
  • A full driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook and the understand and use of the engineering packages on the market would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with MYOB EXO or other ERP systems.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form and have a strong telephone presence.
  • Good problem solving, investigation, time management, and decision making skills.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering or fastener industries.
  • Eligibility to work in NZ and fluency in English.
  • Residing in NZ and have the right to work as either a citizen or permanent resident.
