The Opportunity

Our client is a global leader in their category with food products enjoyed across the globe.  They seek a Global Sales Manager to create and drive profitable growth for their Speciality & Ingredients product portfolio. Based in Christchurch, this new role will bring a strong strategic focus and develop the product portfolio in line with ambitious organisational growth aspirations.

The role requires a highly commercial B2B senior sales professional with a track record of achieving sales and profit targets and bringing a sophisticated approach to building business in a global context.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager Sales, the primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading the development of the Speciality & Ingredients product sales and implementing sales excellence initiatives to realise the benefits of the wider sales strategy.
  • Developing new and managing existing products within the portfolio to build a balanced and successful market portfolio that delivers increased revenue and margin through new market segments and customers.
  • Owning business to business customer relationships and building knowledge and understanding of the customer to become a valued business partner.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating as a successful B2B senior sales professional in an international context, will be highly commercial and comfortable with challenging the status quo. An experience base in supplying raw materials or ingredients to manufacturers would be ideal however candidates with a technical sales background will also be considered. Candidates will have a successful history of leading profitable growth by building strong customer relationships and ideally be familiar with manufacturer’s procurement models, contract management and forex trading. Also important is an in depth understanding of product development / product portfolio management.
