The next piece of our journey is building a presence in the Taranaki region. With a brand new branch in New Plymouth due to open in September this year, an exciting opportunity exists for a motivated person to take on the challenge of helping to develop and shaping this new location, whilst enjoying the benefits of working for a successful and supportive company at the same time.

The Sales Consultant works within the branch and reports to the Branch Manager, the key focus of the role is business relationships, to develop and implement initiatives and services that grow the relationships, and to also attract other vendors to our auction processes and enable them to present vehicles and other items at auctions to their best advantage.

This position would suit a person with strong commercial acumen, proven business development expertise, and who enjoys autonomy while also being an integral part of the team.  We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a drive to develop business relationships and ensure our growth.  Applicants preferably will have a strong sales background, with high standards of integrity and positive interpersonal skills, and with a focus on service and proactive growth in each of the market areas.  Previous experience in the automotive or commercial goods industries would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate should also possess the following:

  • A strong customer focus;
  • A positive, enthusiastic and mature outlook;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good computer skills;
  • Very good organisations skills;
  • A proven ability to work effectively as part of a small team, and at times, work under pressure;
  • Acceptance that the role may involve additional hours.

You should know that we are a seven day a week business and that there will be some weekend work required.
