About the Role

We are looking to fill an Account Manager role, to be based in our Auckland office.

 

Key Responsibilities

The key functions (but are not limited to) are as follows:

 

Import / Export

  • Establish and meet Client call cycles with associated planning and reporting through the CPM (Customer Profile Module) Database;
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities or incremental business from existing accounts by developing service enhancements and identifying new Customers;
  • Liaising with overseas offices / agents via effective and pro-active communication using a ‘push pull’ approach to secure business;
  • Report market intelligence on Customer, commodity and competitive activity;
  • Actively propose improvements to our sales strategy and performance;
  • Maintain Client profiles, data and call reports in respective CPM and GLOBE databases;
  • Assist Documentation / Finance with outstanding invoice enquiries that require verification;
  • Compliance with company policies and procedure;
  • Assist with any other function within the Sales Department as required.

 

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following essential and preferred skills and experience:

 

Essential Skills, Experience and Education

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience background and good working knowledge of the Container Shipping / Freight industry;
  • University/Secondary School Qualifications
  • Knowledge of local and international Shipping markets;
  • Client sales and service including telemarketing skills;
  • Advance proficiency with Microsoft Office;
  • Familiar with Outlook or similar e-mail system;
  • Effective and clear communication skills (both verbal and written), dealing with Vendors, other departments and Customers;
  • Highly organized and effective time management skills;
  • Impeccable attention to detail and analytical in assessing potential issues in complex systems and workflows;
  • Deadline driven, able to work and maintain highest work standards.
