About the Role
We are looking to fill a Sales Coordinator role, to be based in our Auckland office.
Key Responsibilities
The key functions (but are not limited to) are as follows:
Import / Export
- To liaise with sales personnel, co-ordinate and handle sales correspondence, to ensure excellent communication is achieved between customers and Hamburg Sud personnel. Customer visits planned in conjunction with Account Managers.
- To be a professional “first point of contact” for sales and rate enquiries from external customers and Hamburg Sud personnel. Working in conjunction with the Customer Services and Product Management Departments to establish workable rate levels.
- To prepare and deliver quotations and promptly follow up on all client requests. Follow up quotes to see if business is obtained.
- Assist in maintaining customer data base through Globe/CPM
- To assist preparation of schedules/ notices for distribution to customer data base
- To seek out new business opportunities and sales leads. To gather initial information and act promptly on the lead as appropriate.
- To follow company policy and procedure.
- To assist with any other function within the Sales Department as required.
- To monitor and arrange follow-up of quotes given by Sales/Bookings from a list of quotes supplied to the sales personnel weekly
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following essential and preferred skills and experience:
Essential Skills, Experience and Education
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in local and International shipping markets
- University / Secondary School qualifications
- Prior shipping/freight experience
- High proficiency in all MS Office applications
- Highly organized effective time management skills and ability to work within deadlines and use of own initiatives
- Effective and clear communication skills (both verbal and written), dealing with users, vendors, customers and other departments at all levels
- Impeccable attention to detail and analytical in assessing potential issues in complex systems and workflows
- Able to perform high volume of process based work in a methodical and accurate manner
- Deadline driven and able to work and maintain highest work standards
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team and independently
