Job Profile
These are newly created senior sales roles arising from our client's decision to strategically strengthen an already capable sales team.
The primary objective of these positions is to grow sales in each region through developing and executing an effective strategic growth plan. The role focuses on the electrical, engineering and hardware reseller channels. 
Reporting to the National Sales Manager this role is supported by strong sales, customer service, and technical solutions team.
The successful candidates will have sound commercial awareness, demonstrating an affinity to building strong senior management relationships to gain an in-depth understanding of their customer needs in order to deliver genuinely outstanding sales results. It is therefore expected that you will already have proven business development experience in a NZ based company.
You will be a lateral thinker, have keen attention to detail, unquestioned integrity, and an unrelenting drive for performance.
Because of your ability to analyse technical details you'll thrive on solving problems, design innovative solutions and have the skills to negotiate win-win deals with a wide range of customers from the warehouse to boardroom.
You'll enjoy the variety of tasks and the changing requirements of each day.
 

Tasks will include: -
•    Commercially astute identification and pursuit of business opportunities;
•    Active team participation ensuring sales opportunities are well researched, meet guidelines and generate sustainable new business;
•    Regular communication with client management on sales metrics and growth to plan, ensuring they are kept informed of company services, new features, price movements and any new services and changes as soon as possible;
•    Sales reporting and CRM database maintenance;
•    Processing and timely answering of customer enquiries;
 

Skills and Experience Required
•    Several years' successful business development or executive sales experience in a medium to large NZ based company is preferred.
•    Experience in writing proposals and responding to tenders
•    A working knowledge of import / distribution industry or a similar business model would be advantageous but we will consider applications with relevant transferable skill sets and an affinity for operational business environments,
•    Proven experience in negotiation at a senior level 
•    Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, strong numeracy skills and computer literacy in MS Word and Excel are essential. 

 

Qualifications
Proven senior sales experience in the key requirement but a tertiary certificate in a business-related field or electrical engineering would be a great advantage.
 

To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and have a legal right to work permanently in this country.
