Our client is a NZ owned organisation that designs, manufactures and distributes a range of clothing to wholesale customers in NZ, specialising in custom design, manufacture and supply of all types of clothing and accessories to large retail brands, corporates and schools throughout NZ.  The position can either be based in Palmerston North or WellingtonWhile an important part of the role is to manage existing retail stores in terms of orders, promotions, marketing activity etc there is strong focus on developing new customers in the assigned region. Prospective new customers will range from corporate, business, sports clubs/teams and schools. 

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through range presentation to ensure optimum commercial results – ongoing customer support
  • In-store execution - ranging, stock positioning, management of promotional displays
  • Attending tradeshows and other events as required by management
  • Prospecting and establishing new customers
  • Follow a structured call cycle, calling on existing and potential customers
  • Keeping management informed by submitting activity and sales results reports
  • Maintaining professional and relevant technical knowledge along with general administrative functions

Skills and experience

  • You will be highly motivated with excellent prospecting and sales skills
  • Honest, reliable and self confident
  • Customer focused with good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Results driven, hunger to meet/exceed targets
  • Excellent time management and ability to work autonomously
  • High quality, professional work standards and good computer skills
  • Prior or current experience in product sales, especially in relation to sportswear or the apparel industry would be well regarded.
  • Hardworking, Energetic and Ambitious and Accountable
