Location – Auckland NZ

The Role

Reporting to the People Business Partner, the People Advisor (PA) will work with the business to provide support and consultation primarily to the broader market / entity team. The PA is responsible for overseeing/assisting in the day-to-day delivery of People projects, programs, and strategies (communication, on-boarding, integration, talent management etc.).

Key responsibilities:

  • Support People Business Partner in defining and executing local people plans
  • Lead projects at a market level to influence and obtain buy-in, and then drive execution
  • Liaise with functional or operational managers to develop and implement appropriate local people programs
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate employee programs that increase positive employee engagement
  • Functional People Management ensuring all local People policies and procedures are deployed effectively for employees
  • Coach, counsel and provide guidance to team leaders
  • Build credibility with team leaders by providing insight and guidance on HR or broader business issues
  • Provide people insights to Line Managers, People Business Partners, Centres of Expertise and Talent teams
  • Partner with the business to provide support in the induction process; design and/or oversee all collateral, processes and on boarding documentation and ensure compliance with organisational processes and government regulations

The Individual

As a People Advisor you will build trusted advisor relationships across your assigned client groups; you will work closely with client business units to apply HR management principles and knowledge to establish rapport, trust, confidence and credibility with management and employees. You should have some experience in change management principles

The successful candidate will also have a “hands on,” “roll up your sleeves” attitude and a strong internal and external customer service focus. There will always be a bias for action, strong work ethic, and a desire to achieve excellent results. You will need the ability to connect and positively interface at all organisational levels, a passion for inventing solutions and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent, preferably in HR
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work constructively to accomplish goals
  • Proven experience dealing with employee relations
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work without constant direction
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible, as well as continuously improve work processes
