phil&teds: owner of global brand - phil&teds, Mountain Buggy and Mokopuna Merino - is looking for an HR Cheer Leader. You'll lead our HR function to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the overall business.  Based in the NZ Support Office, your role provides pro-active advice on best practice HR, supports the people management of phil&teds heads, that underpins our unique business culture to deliver meaningful and accurate HR that supports a high performing culture.

The role itself includes (but is not limited to...)

  • Be the single point of contact for all HR related services for the NZ Support Office and support our Global Offices – managing job roles, levels, internal relations, position descriptions/adverts, documentation and policies, and ad hoc administration. Lead-implement phil&teds' people strategy:
  • Staffing & Recruitment - hiring/exiting, on boarding/induction, performance management, and 'the basic' learning & development programmes, reviews and bonus scheme. Including:
  • PR for HR - collaborate with the PR corporate comms manager to rant&rave about us online to build a profile that attracts great people to work with us.
  • Employee Development - guide managers through Management 101 resources and tools at hand. Support the set&review process. Manage phil&teds' Learning & Development programme to develop better managers and leaders with coaching, and skills learning & development programmes.
  • Reporting – provide the CEO with monthly and ad hoc reports re: performance, productivity and general HR activity. 

The ideal phil&teds heads leader will have

  • Experience managing multi-faceted projects.

  • Well-developed planning, organizational development and business skills. Through personal example, you will establish the correct style and approach to characterize the Company’s dealings with the market place.

  • Sensitivity for and understanding of foreign cultures and issues. The ability to work with staff and partners in multiple settings and locations.

  • Negotiation and analysis skills.

  • Good problem solving skills. Competitive spirit and strong motivation to finish projects. Solution oriented approach to issues that arise with excellent follow-up skills to ensure issue resolution. Solid problem solving & prioritisation skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • A good sense of humour, and a team player

  • Be an advocate of phil&teds’ philosophy, values and branding policies.

  • Ability to think on his/her feet, with small company experience. Creative and innovative thinker. Strong results orientation. Willingness and capability to “roll up one’s sleeves” in order to achieve goals. Disciplined and detail oriented. Integrity.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, multi-tasking and dynamic environment with a high level of ambiguity.

  • Ability to build strong relationships across a wide spectrum of internal and external parties.

  • Able to work under time and personal pressure, & extended hours, when the situation calls for it.
