Detail information about job Return to Work Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Ground breaking opportunity
  • Re-design the Process
  • Wellington based
New Zealand Police is a large and complex organisation in an exciting period of transformation.  They are the lead agency responsible for reducing crime and enhancing community safety.

Given the risk profile of NZ Police, there is a considerable amount of interest in the wellbeing and safety of their people.

With a significant change in culture across the organisation, this is an exciting time to be a key contributor to the Wellness and Safety function as it gains an increased focus supporting Police to maximise safety and minimize risk to all employees.  Translating strategic intent into advice, planning and programmes of work with an emphasis on risk identification, prevention and a more integrated approach will be at the core of your success.

In this newly created role, the backing by top executive for the return to work strategy should not be underestimated.  Leading a small team, you will have the opportunity to work with other members of the Wellness and Safety team to redesign the process into a more streamlined and focused function for supporting rehabilitation of employees who are ill or injured. The key objective is to as quickly as possible achieve the right outcome, ideally the staff member returning to work.

Your background to date may include rehabilitation or health and safety, however this role would also suit an HR professional who has managed return to work situations.  You will be outcomes focused with strong skills in process management, and will show empathy and professionalism in your work.  Your ability to build relationships internally and externally and influence appropriately will also be a key trait that we will be seeking.  At times, you will be consulting with subject matter experts to achieve an acceptable outcome for all parties.

If this opportunity resonates with you, then we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this role in more depth.  For further information, please contact Graeme Sandri from Sandri Walsh Rosenberg on 04 978 1824.
