A global leader in contractor and supplier management is currently seeking a HSE Specialist to support their expanding operation in New Zealand. Based in central Auckland, this is an excellent opportunity for a tertiary qualified safety professional with 2-5 years field experience looking to transition into a corporate role. Working with an international client base there will be regular travel throughout the region and collaborative working with European and North American operations.

The role

Working with a small satellite team, this is a cross functional role suited to an up and coming safety professional. In addition to providing HSE expertise to a new and existing client base you will also assist in account management and sales activities. The role is suited to a highly motivated, confident individual with strong communication skills. The successful candidate will have the support of a wider global safety team and report into a HSE Team Lead.

Duties

  • Provide HSE support and guidance to clients
  • Oversee the Emergency Action Plan for the Auckland office
  • Research, develop and review safety protocols and legislation
  • Provide desktop audits of health and safety programmes, verifying performance
  • Support and participate in the company’s continual improvement program, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance
  • Support account management and new business activities
  • Conduct advanced training on new products
  • 20-40% travel for customer and industry meetings
  • Support and contribute to the ongoing development of the business

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualified
  • 2-5 years practical HSE work experience, preferably within an industrial environment
  • commercially minded
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
