Skyline Enterprises is one of New Zealand’s leading tourism companies with operations in Queenstown, Milford Sound, Mt Cook, Franz Josef, Dunedin, Rotorua, Singapore, Canada and South Korea.
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Health & Safety Manager with the skills and influence to lead and guide the continual improvement of Health and Safety across our Skyline group.
This exciting role involves overseeing Health & Safety in all areas of our business from training, working with contractors, tenants and Health & Safety reps to coordinating audits, creating reports for senior management, providing expertise and guidance to the Board of Directors and managing our Health & Safety online reporting systems.
Based in Queenstown, you will drive our Health and Safety culture across our diverse operations and work alongside our teams to ensure best practice is delivered.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading, developing and implementing the Health & Safety strategy, processes, systems and capability across the group
- Providing specialist Health & Safety expertise to all Skyline stakeholders
- Advising and guiding the Board of Directors in the governance of Health & Safety
- Partnering with business leaders to review outcomes of investigations and ensuring recommendations to prevent or minimize recurrence are developed and implemented
- Working across all operations to ensure our commitment to Health & Safety is actively promoted and demonstrated
- Coordinating and overseeing successful safety training initiatives
- Aligning all Health and Safety strategies and processes with the overall business strategy
- Advising management of responsibilities under relevant Health & Safety legislation
Key Skills and Experience required include:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety
- Experience in Safety Management systems, data collation & interpretation
- Minimum of 5 years in a Health & Safety management role with organisational wide accountabilities in a multi-faceted business
- Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills
- Strong networks and Health and Safety knowledge relevant to tourism and relevant sectors
