The Company
Our client has been providing leading legal and industrial representation for over 2600 pilots and air traffic controllers in New Zealand.  This trade union prides themselves on quality of service and is held in high regard in the aviation and employment law sector.  

The Role
Having previous relations/advocacy experience, you will be heavily involved in employment and other related matters and providing high quality representation to the members in the general aviation sector.  Being someone who has the ability to inspire and motivate young workers, your ability to problem solve will be an advantage when working on a wide range of assignments all whilst enjoy the benefit of working in a small proactive team and directly with members.

Duties

  • Providing representation and support to members
  • Communicate information regarding legal issues
  • Enhancing knowledge, awareness and support of general aviation issues
  • Recruitment of new members from general aviation sector
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Travel required

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification – LLB preferred
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in relations/advocacy role
  • Excellent command of English – both verbal and written
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of employment law
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Accurate and attention to detail
  • High standard of confidentiality and professionalism
