Health and Safety Coordinator
- Full-time permanent role
We are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Coordinator for Claymark Ltd, a specialist in milling, manufacturing, and distribution of high-quality timber products. They are looking for someone to provide outstanding support to the Manager and must be passionate about the Health and Safety field. Furthermore, our client is looking to employ a confident, self-assured individual that has the ability to positively influence staff at all levels.

Duties/Responsibilities will include:
- Managing site compliance with H&S regulations, emergency response activities and participating in H&S performance improvement initiatives
- Participating in external and internal audits, ensuring audit findings are closed out and recommendations implemented as well as data input (training records and Vault H&S records)
- Planning and conducting H&S inductions and training
- Assisting with investigations for any H&S issues such as incidents and accidents
- Ensuring all safety issues are managed in line with best practices, company policy, and legislative requirements
- Actively facilitating H&S Committee meetings, provide weekly Safety Bulletins to support and lead a proactive H&S culture
- Consistently working onsite to enable the success of our Health & Safety engagement throughout the business
- Being the Health & Safety port of call for all Rotorua Sites
What you'll need to succeed
- Some experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment would be desirable
- Awareness of Health & Safety Legislation
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Your previous experience must have been within the Australian or New Zealand market to ensure you are familiar with NZ Health and Safety legislation
- A formal Health and Safety qualification would be an advantage but is not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
- A can do, will do attitude
- Be flexible and willing to drive change
