Apprentice Training New Zealand 2010 Trust, known as ATNZ, has been providing  quality apprentices and service support to companies since 1999. We are New Zealand’s largest employer of engineering and related trades apprentices. ATNZ works in partnership with host companies, where the apprentices are placed for the on-job component of their apprenticeship training.

A key member of the ATNZ Management team, the HR Business Partner will lead and manage the ATNZ HR team to deliver an outstanding level of service to our apprentices and wider ATNZ team.

You will lead team that provides specialist advice and support including recruitment of apprentices, employment agreement interpretation, assisting and supporting the account managers with performance management and disciplinary issues.Leading bi annual union negotiations.

 In order to be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have/ be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree (or degree equivalent) in HR or business management
  • Previous HR experience as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner .
  • Current knowledge of employment related legislation and extensive practical experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and change management.
  • Analytical, strategic mind-set with a natural ability to see the bigger picture
  • Ability to set and align goals and priorities
  • Positive can do attitude
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
