The company
Our client takes pride in delivering an outstanding environmental service to a wide range of businesses and they have multiple sites throughout New Zealand.
The role
Working with the business for a period of 2-3 months providing BAU cover, this role will support and deliver the full range of Health and Safety objectives and guiding principles across the organisation – in a supportive environment, where superior health and safety results are the goal of every employee, contractor and subcontractor.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Operations Manager, we would expect candidates to have proven experience and a strong ability to drive health and safety accountability and continuous improvement.
Duties include:
- Ensure health and safety has a positive impact on performance
- Monitor, audit and review existing risk assessments and develop as required
- Build safety leadership at all levels through the provision of advice and education in a consultative manner
- Ensure timely close out of non-conformances and corrective action plans
- Incident/Accident investigation and reporting as required
- Liaise with relevant external bodies as necessary
- Drive accountability and continuous improvement
Skills and experience required:
- Relevant safety related qualification
- Experience of working within a high risk industrial industry
- Great working knowledge of legislation
- Strong ability in trend analysis
- Effective time management skillset
- Problem solver - ability to provide innovative solutions
- Excellent attention to detail – report writing and presentations
- Fantastic communication skillset – influencing/motivating
