We provide advice and help to develop effective HR strategies and provide a full suite of HR policies, procedures and support to managers and employees. About the Role
As Principal Business Partner HR you will be part of a supportive team providing high level, trusted and expert advice and support to Managers within assigned business groups. You will actively contribute to direction setting and achievement of business strategy. This is a pivotal and influential role and an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to building your business group’s capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- leading substantial HR related initiatives and developing people strategies
- providing significant thought leadership in the areas of business strategy, workforce strategy, people capability (including leadership) and organisational change
- communicating HR’s strategy and position on issues with credibility and influence
- being the key link between the HR functions and the business to support the development and implementation of the Ministry’s and service line organisational strategies and business plans.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- high level knowledge of human resource practice and relevant employment legislation
- proven ability in the management of HR issues and provision of HR advice and guidance to senior managers
- a strong expertise in change management
- experience in building strategic relationships and being a credible/trusted advisor at a senior leadership level
- proven experience in developing, implementing and articulating strategic HR and business plans
- the ability to articulate the contribution of people plans to strategic business objectives and demonstrate how HR activity can add value to the business performance and outcomes
- sound experience in coaching at senior line manager level.
