About Us

The Co-operative Bank is a different kind of bank. We’re here to change banking for good.

Since 1928, our customers have been at the heart of everything we do, and we’re focused on helping New Zealander’s get ahead financially.

Whether it’s help from one of our friendly teams, or a seamless experience with one of our digital solutions, we’ve got our customers covered. To top it off, we’re the only bank in New Zealand that shares its profits with its customers. It’s all part of the co-operative difference.

Here, no two days are the same. Our people are empowered to innovate, share ideas and let our skills take us in unexpected and exciting directions. But most importantly, we can be ourselves at work; we have fun, but still get things done.

About the role

As part of our People and Culture Team you’ll create dynamic learning and development strategies that will build the Banks learning culture.

You’ll execute thought leadership mixed with innovative and engaging learning and development solutions across all levels in the Bank. You’ll help our people have the skills, knowledge and development opportunities for us to nail our vision of Changing Banking for Good.

Because The Co-operative Bank is owned by our customers, everything we do, every day, is for their benefit.

Key responsibilities

  • Prioritise workload using good judgement to deliver the high quality outputs in an efficient way.
  • Involving content owners in the design and delivery of learning outcomes.
  • Producing high quality outputs in a cost effective manner
  • Applying an agile approach to learning and development design and delivery.

You’ll bring the following experience to the table:

  • A tertiary degree
  • 10 years’ work experience as a thought leader in a similar L&D role.
  • Previous experience of working within a business where retail and sales is a key driver.
  • Experience of creating and delivering L&D plans.

In return for your passion and commitment to helping us Change Banking for Good, we offer an outstanding work environment, ongoing training and the opportunity to work with people who are passionate about making a difference. You’ll be amazed by our non-hierarchal organisation and the ease at which you can get things done.  If this sounds like the role you’ve been looking for, in a place you could call home, get in touch!
