About the company
  
Our client, a well-established food manufacturing business, requires an HR Advisor to look after their business employing over 500 staff.
  
About the role
  
Reporting to the H&S System manager, you will provide quality advice across all areas of HR to management and staff. In a role where no two days are the same you will be responsible for a variety of areas including:
  
  • Developing and implementing HR and H&S policies and procedures
  • Supporting line managers on employment law making sure current practices are aligned with legislative and best practice requirements
  • Ensuring effective investigations and processes are carried out in regard to grievances and disciplinary processes
  • Preparing and negotiating IEAs
  • Analysing staffing requirements and managing the recruitment process
  • Managing performance review processes
  • Ensuring the best training is delivered across the business
  • Assisting the H&S manager with H&S Advisory tasks
  • Helping with general HR or H&S administration
  
Skills you will need
  
To be successful in this role, you will have the proven ability to positively influence people at all levels. This role will suit candidates that enjoy working in a busy production environment and with a highly diverse workforce.
  
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
  
  • Tertiary qualification highly preferred
  • Min 3 years' generalist experience in an HR Advisor role
  • A sound understanding of NZ employment law
  • Experienced dealing with complex issues, grievances and disciplinaries
  • Experienced writing policies/ procedures and good understanding of HRIS
  • Some experience with H&S is desirable
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships with line managers
  • Excellent time management skills
