The Remarkable Sweet Shop is New Zealand's premier retail confectionery experience.  Our destination stores, online shopping and wholesale division present an extensive international product range delivered with exceptional service.

We are looking for a dynamic, human resources professional to undertake a variety of duties..  This is a key role in our organisation, providing valuable services to our managers in the following areas:

  • Recruitment of permanent and seasonal staff
  • Induction and on boarding of new employees including assistance to managers in monitoring of performance and achievement of key performance indicators
  • Training and coaching in sales techniques
  • Preparation and development of instructional training material, handbooks, visual aids and reference documentation
  • Evaluation of training effectiveness ensuring review of objectives and methods used
  • Timely follow up on employee grievances and disciplinary process when required
  • Legislative compliance in all employment areas
  • Strategic contribution to people management and business growth
  • Other administrative duties to assist the organisation such as processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable

Your success in this role will require:

  • Previous experience working as a generalist in Human Resources Management
  • Strong leadership qualities with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • A desire to engage with staff and management
  • A strong working knowledge of employment legislation
  • Knowledge of NZ immigration policy and work visa programs
  • An ability to provide sound advice to managers on managing the employment relationship
  • Experience preparing and presenting training materials
  • Knowledge of health & safety and an ability to contribute to the H&S committee
  • An ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Advanced computer skills including the use of the MS Office suite
  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • A willingness to answer incoming calls to the business and either respond or transfer to the appropriate person
