  • Exciting role for an experienced recruiter with projects to boot!

Every year more than 8000 New Zealanders give their time and energy to St John as Volunteers. They are a critical component of the St John ethos - and they outnumber our paid employees by three to one. Our volunteers work for us because they want to give back to their country and local communities; because they gain knowledge, skills, friends and the satisfaction that comes from helping others; and because they know we couldn't deliver our essential services without them.

This role has two important components.

  • To support the Hiring Managers of Volunteers within the Central region providing advice and coaching relating to volunteer talent attraction and recruitment
  • To contribute to the sustainability and retention of our volunteer workforce. Responsible for key objectives in our Volunteer Sustainability Plan - reward and recognition and diversity to maximise our volunteer engagement

Working as part of St John's National P&C Team, you will regularly collaborate with P&C and wider St John colleagues to promote, attract and retain our volunteer workforce.

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about people and making a positive difference!

You will understand recruitment principles and have experience in end to end recruitment. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully achieve project outcomes and have the skills to ensure we select the right people to volunteer for St John. Strong MS Suite knowledge and experience in candidate management systems would be advantageous.

As this role will be supporting the Central Region (from Waikato to Wellington) regular travel within the region and work outside of standard business hours will be required.

Volunteers are pivotal to our organisation, therefore care and consideration to each and every application and candidate engagement is essential.

Applications treated in the strictest of confidence.

Applications close: Sunday 29 July.

We welcome and encourage diversity in our workforce and adhere to best practice equal employment opportunity principles in all aspects of our recruitment and our ways of working.
