Our small transport company has become a medium sized company over a very short space of time and so we currently have a sole-charge role offering variety and challenge across all aspects of HR and Health and Safety, with family values and a close-knit team culture we are proud of our achievements and are excited by the next steps of our continued growth.
This newly established role is responsible for the entire HR function and offers the unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional to establish the HR function
for the business and create their own path, to be considered you will need to be an
experienced HR generalist who enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy.
You’ll find that the full spectrum of HR skills will be utilised in this role so we are looking for someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves – it’s hands-on; your days will be full of variety from providing strategic HR advice to administering weekly payroll and maintaining personnel paperwork.
You will be an energetic and versatile individual who is self-assured and is an outstanding communicator.
You’ll be able to show your flair for getting results and passion for operational excellence.
As our operation runs from 2am to 5pm we are flexible with start/finish times.
Overview of Responsibilities
Delivery and continuous improvement of recruitment, induction and training practices
Execution of HR processes and procedures
Provide ongoing and pertinent support to Managers and Team Leaders
Support the development of training material and the facilitation of training initiatives
Management and maintencence of our NZFSA program
Skills, Behaviours and Experience
Human Resources or related tertiary qualification
2+ years of generalist HR experience in an operational environment (previous experience in transport would be a bonus)
Is a positive, engaging and approachable person with great relationship building skills
Is proactive with integrity and a positive focussed approach
Strong employment legislation knowledge
An understanding of training and development initiatives
A focus on business improvement and operational excellence
Proven ability to achieve outcomes
Ability to challenge current thinking, habits and practices and influence others
Proven experience in engagement and retention initiatives, performance management and change management
