Penguin Random House New Zealand is looking for an experienced Project Editor to join its in-house publishing team on a 12 month contract covering a period of Parental Leave. In this role, you will work closely with authors, publishers, freelance editors, and designers to ensure the efficient management of the editorial work needed to bring books to publication.
The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of the book publishing process, and proven capabilities when it comes to editing, proofreading and project management. Reporting to the Managing Editor, you will ensure the publishing process is efficiently managed, deadlines are met, budgets are adhered to and the highest standards of editorial excellence are upheld.
You will have comprehensive knowledge of English syntax and grammar, excellent interpersonal skills, and an editing qualification is preferred.
