About Social Investment Agency (SIA)
SIA is a small government department with a big purpose; investing in social wellbeing through improved decision making. This is achieved by demonstrating the value of using data, evidence and technology to support decision-making across the social system, trialling new and innovative ways of working with government and NGOs, and developing social system tools and infrastructure that all agencies can use. Because they are small, they can be agile and continually explore and test their thinking in order to develop the best approach.
The Role of Manager Data Systems
The Manager Data Systems leads the team responsible for developing key data systems infrastructure and policies that enable greater access to insights from data. Having responsibility for project resources and technical solutions specialists, you will have strategic ownership of the necessary frameworks that enable safe and secure sharing of data. You will also work closely with the Analytics Manager to put developed analytical tools into use within the wider social sector.
Reporting to the Director Data Systems and Analytics, this key leadership role will influence internally to create and implement data systems to achieve strategic goals. You will also work with external partners to ensure data systems are of value to the wider social sector. You will develop and test policies for data sharing to create a platform for safe data accessibility in order to make highly critical decisions for investment in the social sector.
The Person – How You Will Make an Impact
You truly get the value of data and the role it can play in informed decision making. With a successful background in leading a multi-disciplined data team, you can help lead technical teams and dissect technical jargon to the wider business in order to deliver on SIA’s strategy. A technical qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology (or equivalent) would be beneficial.
You empower your team to work in an agile manner (develop, test, execute/refine) and lead technical projects through to completion. In order to become a best in class data systems team, you are not only an aspirational leader to your team but can manage upwards in order to get things done.
