Software Engineer

I know it's cliche, but here it is. That role you have been waiting for. We have been asked to find that talented Intermediate Engineer on the cusp to Senior Engineer status.

Our client, is needing to grow it's capabilities in the Product Development team. It is an incredible environment, enabling people to be the best they can be with leading edge UX design and Consumer Lead design principles at the core of what they do.
 
We need someone confident, motivated, eager to both teach and learn, who’ll love being immersed in all things digital product & solutions development incorporating, DEVOPS.

As a WEB NATIVE, you love technology. You love how it and how it can be used, and love the challenge of finding new and delightful ways to incorporate it each and every day. You are experimental in dev tools and approaches.

From a remuneration perspective, we have up to $120,000 per annum to pay.
 
The Core Domain Knowledge
 
Being a Web Native, you have worked front end, back end and everything in between. You are confident at an architectural layer and have been instrumental in productization projects and you may well be in a product Software Engineer role for a product company and bored, OR, you may well be working in the agency space and keen to expand you're repertoire of clients and be ready to step up and drive continued product development following modern AGILE / SCRUM principles.
 
Essentially, you know how Web Apps hang together from design, architecture, development of front end, integration and back-end perspectives. You will have a helicopter view and can solution (broadly speaking) and are comfortable white boarding your ideas.
 
The ideal candidate will also have DevOps experience and be comfortable driving DevOps deliverables across product centred design and development processes. 
 
You have the ability to make a real impact here, if you feel you have the DevOps experience but not a Senior Developer, we still want to hear from you.
 
The Technical Skills 
 
Critical to the success of this role is your knowledge in and around the web - you've built and shipped web applications to production, and know what it takes to design, build, run and maintain products successfully. You've done this enough to be able to make good calls and give guidance and help to more junior staff

• Familiarity with a traditional languages, Python, <modern> PHP, NodeJS, and some Golang, you havepractical knowledge of related technologies, and you're always hungry to experiment and know when it's appropriate to introduce them.
• We don't want a "single-minded" technical specialist, we want and embrace people who can explore needs and proposed true "Software Engineering" solutions to the greater good of the client and the project. 
• You know some infrastructure; you may have a started out as a developer but have gotten into designing and building the architectures and infrastructure that runs the web too. Ideally, you have started down the automation path and get the "infrastructure as code in the cloud" paradigm.
  
  
• You appreciate the modern ways of building and delivering software into production - pipelines, CI/CD, automation and are comfortable setting this up and helping others (our client currently uses Terraform, Ansible, Docker, a whole suite of AWS stuff)
• You understand that software is merely a tool wielded carefully to achieve goals and objectives, and you can factor non-technical contexts and constraints into your decisions. You've probably absorbed many books, theories, philosophies, and trends along the way, have had the chance to apply these in the real world and have formed your own well-informed opinions on them. 
  
  
• You put your integrity and ethics first! No “prima donna’s” please, just somebody who is enthusiastic, good at what they do and great to work with.
