Wellington City Council's Customer Service Team is on the hunt for keen and enthusiastic individuals to help keep our Capital City up, running and flourishing.

Does the thought of working in a high pressured ever changing environment excite you?

It's not all sweetness and light - but if you can stay cool under pressure and have a strong foundation in customer service then we're interested in hearing from you.

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for responding to our customer's enquiries which are associated with a wide range of Council services and facilities. You will also be liaising with internal business units and associated agencies.

You'll join an open, welcoming and dedicated team of individuals who'll help you learn about the Council and about the city and its people - and their wants and needs.

This is a full-time permanent position Monday to Friday during day hours.

To be considered for this role you will have the following:

  • Proven customer service experience is a must! (ideally three current years minimum)
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Be IT Savvy

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Wellington areas
  • General Knowledge of local government services (what is a drain?)
  • Call centre experience
  • Experience in a fast paced environment

Personal attributes:

  • Solution focused and future focused - open to new things
  • Self-motivation and time management
  • Good sense of humour
