The Company
Our client a well-known, household name who is leading their sector in both market presence and technological advancement. They are a fast growing, Agile business who have an ambitious and exciting roadmap laid out for the next 10 years.
The Role
You will be leading the DevOps team who are responsible for the overall service delivery of system reliability and scalability to one of the organisations most critical business units. You will be responsible for coordinating the team to ensure completed tasks are in line with operating procedures, as well as remaining hands-on yourself.
You will be required to:
- Participate in all elements of environment and release management
- Lead the DevOps team technically, by actively contributing to the infrastructure automation development processes
- Manage the deployment of system/software releases and patches
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, external and internal stakeholders
- Allocate infrastructure from a total cost perspective
- Proactively identify technical processes and opportunities for improvement
- Work cross-functionally to plan releases, validation and post-release monitoring activities
- Effectively manage and escalate any issue as deemed necessary
Key Requirements
You will be a team player, a technology enthusiast and highly inquisitive. Our client strives to constantly push the boundary, innovate, and lead their market worldwide. You will have a minimum of eight years’ experience working extensively with an array of infrastructure technologies in a complex environment, with at least three of those years working as a DevOps Engineer or similar.
Additionally, you will ideally possess:
- Relative AWS and tertiary qualification
- Technical expertise and understanding of both development and operations, and the tools involved (monitoring, management and deployment)
- An advanced understanding of installation, administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Superb business acumen and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery planning
- UML Modelling experience
This is a lead role suited for an experienced DevOps engineer, that is comfortable staying hands on approximately 50% of the time, while leading the team and working closely with stakeholders the other 50%.
