The documentation team is responsible for creating and maintaining online and embedded customer help, and internal developer help, for Verizon Connect’s suite of enterprise web-based fleet management tools, for its cutting-edge navigation and routing apps, and for developer-focused API and internal tools. This team also creates documentation for product management, works with QA to identify issues ahead of product releases, and advises on text usage and style.
Responsibiilties:
- Working within our R&D teams, learn how new and updated products should be used, then create and publish user guides and example content summarizing this information.
- Use single-source documentation software such as Help & Manual, Sandcastle Help File Builder (XML/AML), DocFX, and Visual Studio (C# and JavaScript).
- Work with UX/UI, R&D and QA teams to identify areas of improvement at early development stages.
- Produce work of a high standard within strict deadlines, complying with established corporate style guides.
- Create general documentation content for emails, case studies, and general intranet content as required.
You need to have:
- Excellent communication, writing and editing skills
- The ability to summarise highly technical content succinctly and accurately.
- Technical aptitude and a willingness to learn to use a variety of technical tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
Even better if you have:
- Experience or familiarity with web technologies.
- Familiarity with GPS/telematics.
- An appreciation of aesthetics and design, whether constructing a page of text content or creating a conceptual diagram.
- Basic familiarity with graphical software such as Photoshop/Gimp.
- Familiarity with C# and JavaScript and source control tools and best practices.
