To be effective in this role, applicants must meet the following:
• A current first aid certificate
• A Site Safe Passport
• A current Traffic Control TC1 or preferably STMS qualification
• Current WTC training certificates
• Technical qualifications on Electrical/Electronics/IT & Telecommunications an advantage
• Related experience in the fibre network
• Chorus standards knowhow (NGA B & C for SDU and MDU)
• Knowledge of NGA designs & Asbuilts
• Knowledge in using Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD
• Attention to detail
• Minimum full Class 1 Drivers Licence
Tasks include:
• Installation of a complete Ribbonet system for UFB
• Installation of boundary joints, investigation of existing ducts, hauling, dig and fix
• Installation of all types of ducting and cables from chambers to cabinet, etc.
• Manual physical work for trenching, piloting, chamber installation and any associated manual work as required for projects.
• Examination of drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed
• Installation, repair and maintainance of fibre optic cables in underground pipes, trenches and overhead systems
• All works to be carried out in compliance with health and safety, environmental and traffic management standards.
