This is an exciting time to join EA Networks who are embarking on many projects introducing leading-edge technologies, team and business initiatives to support growth and efficiency goals.  Within this programme, the Network Engineer key role is to design, configure and maintain EA Networks’ Operational/Information Technology IP Networks – Public Fibre Broadband, Digital Mobile Radio and SCADA.  To this end, your responsibility is to ensure the suite of networks is highly secure and reliable, while supporting EA Networks’ staff and Retail Service Providers in achieving their objectives. 

If you actively seeking a lifestyle and career move and have the following experience/competencies; this is definitely the one for you!    
  • Approximately two years’ experience of Network Design (config) and Maintenance (support)
  • Working knowledge/experience in Wireless Network planning and maintenance and troubleshooting network issues
  • Load monitoring and management
  • Understanding of fibre-optic networks
  • Protocols expertise; e.g. OSPF, ring protocols (EAPS, EPSR), NTP, SNMP, TFTP, TFP, IGMP, VRRP, etc.
  • Preferably experienced with DHCP/DNS
  • Linux Server management (including scripting)
  • Network Monitoring tools, Security and Firewall experience
  • VLANing, Switching and Routing
  • Working knowledge of Voice and data design, MPLS network design, GPON architecture and Ethernet Standards
  • Networking equipment; preferably Allied Telesis
  • An enthusiastic, enquiring and results focused approach, keen to tackle challenges
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team working and communication skills
  • Relevant training and qualifications including CCNA or equivalent Certification
  • Experience in a consultancy, Council, utility, industrial or commercial environment utilising med-large scale communications infrastructure
